Who has time for time management?

We've all said to ourselves to stop procrastinating, being late for important things, and use our time efficiently but in the end we all fall back to these habits.

Why is it so hard for us as humans to be aware of time and our usage of it? The simple fact that time is a made up concept.... not gonna go deep into that however it is what governs our day to day living and is almost necessary to be able to function on earth as society has developed for 1000's of years.

Time management is something I used to personally suffer a lot with especially growing up and becoming a young adult in college where deadlines literally determine your fate in a certain program. As a college student, coming from high-school where deadline, schedules and expectations aren't as strictly enforced, it can be a difficult adjustment having to be aware of time and the restraints it puts on us.

It is so important to teach yourself time management as it can benefit your life career, family, and overall health wise due to a decrease in stress levels when you can effectively organize your days in a way to avoid becoming overwhelmed.

After trial and error I have found some strategies that help me in managing my time in the best way possible for me.

- write a to do list for the days/weeks tasks

- set yourself a time limit for phone usage/day (ex: 1-2 hours)

- study in 25 min block, break and reset timer for 25 min (studies proven the brain stops registering information after x amount of time)

- plan/prep your meals so you don't have to cook when in a rush

- get up 10-20 minutes early every morning

- layout clothing the night before so you can wake up and throw it on without rummaging through drawers

These tips will assist you in becoming time management savvy and with such a fast paced world we can either match it or fall behind. What will you do?
