With the rise of social media, you may find yourself in your head a lot second guessing all your decisions, worrying about whats yet to come.
How can you get out of this viscous cycle of overthinking, anxious states? I would love to provide a cookie cutter response to that however, that just is not the case. There is however a very important therapy that even the most basic person can implement to help stop their brain from jumping all over the place.
This little thing called #AcceptanceandCommitmenttherapy....
A whole mouthful, I know but trust me on that this type of mindfulness training doesn't teach you to push down your thoughts, but to acknowledge that they are there, to feel them, and to move on without overreacting and seeing them as mere thoughts.
When I first learned of this it seemed almost too good to be true, but when you dive really deep into your thoughts and realize that they hold no real value over your actions, you develop a new sense of self-awareness.
Now if you're thinking if this mumbo jumbo works, I have had experiences in my life that I could have let define me and currently find myself in situations where my anxious thoughts could overtake me. By using this acceptance of unwanted thoughts, feeling them within me and deciding on a better action plan, I am able to not let them impact my decisions in my life in PRESENT.
There is a whole bunch of apps nowadays for meditation, mindfulness and health wellness, I find meditating in the morning before I've even had the chance to let thoughts enter my brain has been beneficial in my mind being more clear throughout the day,
Get outside your brain and live the life YOU are allowed to lead.
